Building Bridges in Times of Tension

Dear peacemaker,

Due to all that is happening nationally and locally with police/community relations, The City Peace Project is making a proactive effort to create peaceful relationships between youth and law enforcement.

The City Peace Project, in collaboration with SJPD's Captain Mata, led our first tour with a hand-selected group of freshman from Alpha Public Schools in East San Jose.

Captain Mata made a powerful connection with the students as he shared his story of growing up in Chicago and related it to their life here in San Jose. He spoke about overcoming obstacles through his faith and his journey to become a police officer. I was blessed to see the kids so enthusiastic and asking so many questions! We are looking forward to many more tours.

Pray for Our Police and Community - 1 Timothy 2:1-3 - I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and it is pleases God our Savior.
